In 1963, Cosma decided to leave Romania and move to Paris, France, where he continued his studies at the Conservatoire national supérieur de musique de Paris, working with Nadia Boulanger. He also discovered his passion for jazz, film music, and popular music. He said: “Paris was a revelation for me. It was a city of freedom, culture, and diversity. I met many great artists and musicians who inspired me and encouraged me. I felt at home in France.”
