Is Hilda Season 4 Happening?
Unfortunately, no. Hilda Season 4 is not confirmed, and it is very unlikely that it will ever happen. The reason is that the creator of the series, Luke Pearson, has decided to end the show with Season 3. He explained his decision in an Instagram post, where he thanked the fans and the team behind the show. He wrote:
Unfortunately, this will be the last season, but I can’t wait for people to see what we have prepared for them – especially because we have gone beyond the books, so it’s all unexpected. I would say it’s more about discovering new aspects of Hilda’s world that have never been mentioned before.
He also said:
The voice actress of Hilda, Bella Ramsey, also confirmed that Season 3 was the last one. She posted a heartfelt message on her Instagram, where she shared her memories and gratitude for being part of the show. She said:
I have been looking for the date of my first recording session for Hilda, but I don’t have any records of it. 🙁 I think it was in 2016. That means I have been part of Hilda for 7 years. I started acting only 9 years ago. Hilda was a big part of my life because I would often travel to London with my mum or dad to record it.
We would get off the train at St Pancras, and walk to Soho Square Studios, where we would get some tea, sit in the small waiting area downstairs, and then go to the studio with Peacock Sound.
I want to thank and congratulate everyone who worked on the show and say:

It looks like Pearson and Ramsey are satisfied with how the show ended, and they don’t want to continue it. Netflix has not said anything about the future of the show, but it is not likely that they will make more seasons without the original creator and the main voice actor.
Why did Hilda end with Season 3?

The season also explored the themes of friendship, family, identity, and belonging, as Hilda and her friends had to deal with their issues and conflicts. For example, Frida struggled with her parents’ divorce and her feelings for David; David faced his fears and insecurities; and Alfur tried to find his place in the human world.
The season ended with a climactic showdown between Hilda and Ahlberg, who wanted to use a powerful device to control the weather and the magic of Trolberg. Hilda managed to stop him, with the help of her friends and allies, but not without consequences. What could have happened in Hilda Season 4?

Hilda Season 4 could have also tackled new themes, such as the balance between nature and civilization, the responsibility of power, the value of diversity, and the importance of courage and hope.
Of course, these are all just speculations and possibilities, and we will never know for sure what Hilda Season 4 could have been like. However, we can still enjoy the existing seasons of Hilda and appreciate the wonderful story that Pearson and his team have created.
