Legal Action Against Netflix to Stop Streaming of Bombay Begums Over Minor Content Issue

National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) has asked Netflix to stop streaming Bombay Begums the series citing inappropriate portrayal of children in the web series in a notice to Netflix issued on March 11, 2021.
A far as the letter is concerned, the complaint that was filed by two Twitter handles has been the NCPCR is taking cognizance. They have said in the letter to Netflix that they will have to stop the streaming of the series for Bombay Begums and they will have to furnish a detailed action report that they have taken as far as this particular series is concerned within 24 hours.
If they failed to do it then they will be forced to take legal action as far as the PBA is concerned and Netflix is concerned. The complaining FRS issue panels that they had complained that there was an inappropriate portrayal of children including a 13-year-old child having casual sex and a lot of other things that were inappropriate as far as minors are concerned was shown in the series.
In the letter, the NCPCR has also said that they will be putting a hold on the series till the time a detailed further report is submitted but it is highly unlikely that this particular series Bombay Begums will be resumed after given the content that it has until unless Netflix and the series makers take certain action to omit all the content.
