Tandav Case: Amazon Prime India Head Aparna Purohit gets anticipatory bail from the Supreme Court

Big relief for the Amazon Prime India head Aparna Purohit on 5 March 2021. The supreme court has granted anticipatory bail to Aparna Purohit was apprehending arrest in the Tandav web series controversy case. The court also has asked her to cooperate in the ongoing investigation. Aparna Purohit had challenged the order of the Allahabad High Court she has now been granted anticipatory bail by the top court.
On 5 March 2021, the Supreme Court today has said that Aparna Purohit will not be arrested concerning the Tandav case as long as she cooperates with the investigation. Now, this comes as a big relief to her. She has said that the Allahabad High Court when it was dealing with the case regarding an FIR in greater Noida has refused the anticipatory bail. Aparna Purohit was not cooperating in that.
However, it has also been stated that a similar matter which is in Lucknow, Aparna Purohit has called for questioning, and she was not cooperating in that particular case. Though the Lucknow bench of the High Court had granted her protection in respect to that one particular case.

On the guarantee that she is cooperating with the investigation given by her lawyer Senior Advocate Mukul Rohatgi. The court said that she will not be arrested subject to the fact that she continues to cooperate with the investigation and also in this matter notice has been issued by the bench led by Justice Ashok Bhushan.
