Twitter Blocks Actress Kangana Ranaut’s Account After Racist Tweet

New Delhi, May 4, 2021 – By the microblogging site, this after Kangana Ranaut posted a controversial tweet related to post-election violence in Bengal. In response to Twitter Kangana Ranaut said, and I quote “They Americans and by birth, a white person feels entitled to enslave a brown person. They want to tell you what to think, speak, or do. I have many platforms, I can use to raise my voice, including my art in the form of cinema.”

The actor then went on to say, My heart goes out to the people of this nation who have been tortured, slaved, and censored for 1000s of years.

The first time that perhaps, Kangana Ranaut has faced a backlash from Twitter. Earlier this year, and even, in fact, last year, during the farmer’s protests or for that matter, more recently when she criticizes the web show ‘Tandav’. Many of her tweets were removed from the social media pages. But then again, you know, she has other outlets and other social media pages where she has been coming out and speaking about, especially this entire, violence in Bengal.
And, her tweet where she requested, you know, PM Narendra Modi to go and same Mamta Banerjee is what offended people. You know, she’s been tweeting all about the violence that has been happening in Bengal, but her words have not been very well put together. She’s been extremely harsh. She has asked for the President’s rule (Article 356) in West Bengal post the violence and that has left a very bad taste. As a result, Twitter black Kangana Ranaut’s Account.
