Finance Ministry Proposes 24X7 New COVID Vaccination Drive

New Delhi – The finance ministry and how they have made a very strong pitch to vaccinate 70 crore people with at least the first dose by December to achieve herd immunity against COVID-19 and regain the momentum of economic recovery.
Now, the ministry suggested aligning supplies with the September 2021 target in a system whereby people already having antibodies are vaccinated later, while people who have not been exposed are given priority.
Now use technology to ease the administration of the vaccine increase shifts at the vaccination centers and integration of mass vaccination sites that shopping areas strivings which schools and primary health care centers will enhance fast coverage under the vaccination drive is what the finance ministry has come ahead and said.
A decision is made such as giving priority to people who already have antibodies. Let us say, you know somebody who has recovered from Coronavirus Well when a decision is made to not give these people priority, but people that have not been exposed to the virus at all.
This is a more logical step if we want to cover a large population with a limited number of vaccine doses. And that is what we have also been saying that this natural infection does give immunity up to six months to one year. So there is no urgency for these people to get the vaccine immediately after they have recovered.
So I think it’s a strategy, which France has been using for a long time. And I think the UK also they were the spacing of the doses was also done because of this reason only because one dose also gave some immunity, if not all. So I think we can use this strategy to cover most populations to bring about herd immunity.
And that will help us combat the pandemic in a better way. So I think it’s a reasonable strategy, I would say, and it is based on science, it is that natural infection does give immunity let’s take advantage of that.
And those who have not got infection should get priority over those who got an infection. And that would help us in bringing a larger population in the ambit of at least 1 dose of vaccine.
