Arvind Kejriwal’s Delhi Govt Reduces Legal Drinking Age from 25 to 21 in the National Capital

The Delhi government under Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has reduced the legal drinking age in the national capital from 25 to 21. So earlier, the legal drinking age in Delhi was 25 years. And now on 22 March 2021, the drinking age has been brought down to 21 years. This was the recommendation of a group of ministers led by Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia.
And now the Delhi government has put it into action with the drinking age in Delhi reduced from 25 to 21. And more breaking news coming in the government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi Amendment Bill has been passed in the Lok Sabha.
The Aam Aadmi Party in Delhi has been very mentally opposed to the MCT bill. It has just been passed in the Lok Sabha and is likely to trigger a fresh political face-off between the AAM Aadmi Party and the BJP. This is a bill that gives even more powers to the lieutenant governor. It’s something the Kejriwal government has been opposing and is very much part of the ongoing power tussle between Delhi state and the center.
