Bihar Deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav donates blood on the occasion of World Blood Donor Day

On June 14, 2023, the world celebrated World Blood Donor Day, a day to raise awareness about the need and importance of blood donation. In Bihar, the deputy chief minister and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav set an example by donating blood at a camp organized by his party.

A gesture of social service and solidarity

Tejashwi Yadav, who is also the younger son of RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav, said that he was inspired by his father’s legacy of social justice and harmony. He said that donating blood was a gesture of social service and solidarity with the people who need it.

“I am happy to donate blood on this occasion. It is a noble cause and I urge everyone who is eligible to do so. Blood donation can save lives and help those who are suffering from various diseases. It is also a way of expressing our love and compassion for humanity,” he said.

Tejashwi Yadav also thanked the doctors and staff of the blood bank for their efforts and dedication. He said that they were doing a great service to society by ensuring the availability and quality of blood.

A message to the BJP-led central government

Tejashwi Yadav also used the opportunity to send a message to the BJP-led central government, which he has been criticizing for its policies and performance. He said that Bihar deserved special category status as a birthday gift from the BJP, which had been greeting him on his birthday on November 9.

“Bihar is one of the most backward and poor states in the country. It needs more resources and support from the central government to develop and prosper. Special category status will give us more funds, tax benefits and incentives to attract investment and create jobs. It is a long-standing demand of the people of Bihar and I hope that the BJP will fulfil it as a birthday gift to me,” he said.

He also accused the BJP of trying to divide the country on communal lines and undermining the Constitution. He said that his party was committed to fighting against such forces and upholding the values of democracy and secularism.

“We are proud of our diversity and unity. We respect all religions and cultures. We believe in the Constitution and its principles. We will not let anyone harm our country or its people. We will stand with all those who are fighting for their rights and dignity,” he said.

A leader with a vision and a mission

Tejashwi Yadav, who became the deputy chief minister of Bihar in 2020 after his party formed an alliance with Nitish Kumar’s JD(U), has emerged as a leader with a vision and a mission. He has been handling various portfolios such as road construction, health, finance, and disaster management with efficiency and innovation.

He has also been leading his party’s campaign for the upcoming assembly elections in 2025, where he hopes to become the chief minister. He has been projecting himself as a youth icon and a champion of development and social justice.

He has also been reaching out to other opposition parties to form a united front against the BJP at the national level. He has invited leaders like Congress president Mallikarnjun Kharge, TMC chief Mamata Banerjee, SP president Akhilesh Yadav, and others to attend a meeting in Patna on June 23 to discuss a common agenda.

Tejashwi Yadav has shown that he is not only a son of Lalu Prasad Yadav, but also a leader in his own right. He has proved his mettle as a politician, an administrator, and a social worker. He has also demonstrated his generosity and humanity by donating blood on World Blood Donor Day.
