Karnataka Reserves 7000 Beds In All Hospitals For COVID-19 Patients

Bengaluru, 22 April 2021 – Shifting the focus to the state of Karnataka where the Health Minister there has announced over 7000 beds will now be allocated to COVID-19 patients. All hospitals that have a bed capacity of more than 30 will now have to dedicate nearly 80% of the beds in the ICU facility to the state government.
Looking at the percentage that has been increased. Earlier it was being said that 50% of the bed should be allocated just for the COVID-19 patients. And now we are looking at the allocation now being increased.
Talking to the media health minister and medical education minister Dr. Sudhakar has confirmed that a hospital that has about 30 beds will be allocating all the beds, 80% of the beds to the COVID patient. He has also said that it is a medical emergency, the state of Karnataka and private hospitals have to work with the government.

And he has also stated that all the expenses will be paid by the Karnataka government, the treatment of which will be given by this private hospital to COVID patients. So, he has mentioned that they will pay the charges and none of the hospitals should deny beds for the COVID especially when it comes to bed allocation. Remember earlier it was only 50% of beds, which has been which was been allocated for COVID patients.
This morning, he announced that 80% of beds, which are the hospital which has about 30 beds will be giving beds to COVID patients. For non-COVID patients, all the hospitals which have a below 30, can admit the non-COVID patient. Non-COVID patients do not worry even if they are admitted to the hospital.
The state health minister of Karnataka now owing to those large hospitals who have the bed capacity over 50% that was now being earlier said by the state government that has now been increased to 80% allocation just for COVID-19 patients.
