Night Curfew in Tamil Nadu From 10 pm To 4 am Amid Covid-19 Surge

Tamil Nadu, 19 April 2021 – This is with regards to a Night Curfew that would be imposed in the southern state of Tamil Nadu from 10 o’clock in the night to about 4 a.m. In addition, the board examination of the 12th class is also postponed. Now, what we are picking up is that during the night curfew, any private transport over that matter, even public buses, Auto Rickshaw, taxis, and private use will not be allowed. There’ll be a complete lockdown on Sundays, as far as what would be open and what wouldn’t.

We’re being told that meat shops, fish markets, vegetable shops, theaters, beaches, parks, and museums, would remain close. For instance, in other states like Maharashtra as well as the National Capital weekend, lockdowns have already been implemented.

New declarations for a COVID have already been issued by the Tamil Nadu government. What we are learning is right now two new steps have been introduced including that of night curfew and total lockdown on Sundays alone. Both of these will start into effect from 20th April and Night curfew will be enforced across all districts here in the state from 10 pm until 4 am and apart from emergency services, and apart from all the major transportation facilities, all of them are will be blocked during the night curfew, private and public buses, autos taxis and private use vehicles will not be allowed.

We are also hearing that during this night curfew that will be imposed action will be taken against those who failed to adhere to the rules and regulations that have been set down by the Tamil Nadu government. Tamil Nadu government is also imposing a complete lockdown on Sundays and these lockdowns on Sunday also will include a complete lockdown that is including that of fish markets, vegetable markets, fruit markets, and all necessities will also be shut down. Cinema theaters, beaches, Parks, museums will be closed on all Sundays.

On Sundays as well stringent rules and regulations have also been given to pastor services as well as those who are procuring food via Swiggy, Zomato, and other eCommerce platforms. Specific time regulations have been given for those who wish to order or procure food from these eCommerce platforms as well as lockdown imposed on Sunday night classes have been issued for the people on the other days as well. 50% of employees will be allowed to work from the office and the rest will be working from home.
