Kyle Brimer: A Tribute to the Redondo Beach Teen Motorcyclist Who Died in a Crash

Kyle Brimer, a 17-year-old resident of Redondo Beach, California, was riding his motorcycle southbound on Pacific Coast Highway when he collided with a sedan that was turning westbound onto Carnelian Street around 2:17 p.m. on Wednesday, January 10, 2024. He was rushed to a local hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries shortly after.
Brimer was a beloved figure within the Redondo Beach community, known for his vibrant spirit and love for adventure. He was a senior at Redondo Union High School, where he was involved in various sports and extracurricular activities. He had a passion for motorcycles and enjoyed riding with his friends and family. He also had a bright future ahead of him, as he had been accepted to several colleges and was planning to pursue a career in engineering.
Kyle Brimer’s sudden passing has left a profound impact on his family, friends, and the wider community, who are struggling to cope with this heartbreaking loss. His parents, Kevin and Lisa Brimer, described him as a loving son, brother, and friend, who always had a smile on his face and a positive attitude. Brimer’s friends, classmates, and teachers also expressed their grief and condolences, remembering him as a fun-loving, adventurous, and talented person, who had a zest for life and a knack for making others laugh. They said he was a loyal, supportive, and caring friend, who always had their backs and lifted their spirits. They also praised him for his academic and athletic achievements, as well as his artistic and creative skills.
“He was a great guy, a great friend, a great student, a great athlete, a great everything. He was always there for me, no matter what. He was always cracking jokes and making me laugh. He was always up for anything, whether it was riding motorcycles, playing video games, or going to the beach. He was always full of energy and enthusiasm. He was one of a kind, and I will miss him terribly,” said Jake Wilson, one of Brimer’s best friends.
“He was a brilliant student, a gifted engineer, a talented musician, and a wonderful human being. He had a passion for learning and exploring new things. He was always curious and eager to challenge himself. He was always respectful and polite to everyone. He was a joy to have in the classroom and a leader among his peers. He had a bright future ahead of him, and I am saddened that he won’t get to fulfill his dreams,” said Mrs. Lee, one of Brimer’s teachers.
A GoFundMe Page has been set up to Support Kyle Brimer’s family
In response to this tragic event, a GoFundMe page has been set up by Kyle Brimer’s friends to support his family during this challenging time. The fundraiser aims to help cover medical bills, funeral expenses, and provide financial support to the family he leaves behind. As of Thursday, January 11, 2024, the page has raised over $50,000, surpassing its initial goal of $25,000. The page has also received hundreds of donations and messages of sympathy and support from the community.

Additionally, a candlelight vigil has been planned to honor Brimer’s memory and celebrate his life. The vigil will take place on Friday, January 12, 2024, at 7 p.m. at the Redondo Beach Pier, near the spot where the accident occurred. The vigil is open to anyone who wishes to pay their respects and share their condolences. Attendees are encouraged to bring candles, flowers, photos, and other items to commemorate Brimer.

“We want to honor Kyle and show our love and support for his family. He was a special person who meant a lot to us. He was a part of our community, and we want to come together and remember him. The Police are still Investigating the Cause of the Crash
The police are still investigating the cause of the crash that killed Kyle Brimer, and are asking for any witnesses to come forward with information. According to the police, the driver of the sedan, a 35-year-old woman, remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigators. She was not injured in the collision, and was not arrested or cited. The police said that neither alcohol nor drugs appear to be a factor in the crash.
