She also coached cheerleading for St. Catherines High School and Trinity Lutheran Elementary, where she was a classroom aide. She loved working with children and had a talent for connecting with them.
Sara was a free-spirited and adventurous person who loved to explore the world. She fulfilled her dream of becoming a flight attendant and worked for Frontier Airlines. A Celebration of Life
Sara Petersen’s family and friends gathered to celebrate her life and honor her memory on Friday, January 26, 2024, at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Racine. The visitation was held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 7:00 p.m. The service was led by Pastor John Smith, who shared some of Sara’s favorite scriptures and stories. He also read a poem that Sara had written for her mother’s funeral, expressing her faith and hope in God’s plan.
The service was attended by hundreds of people who knew and loved Sara, including her colleagues from Frontier Airlines, her former cheerleading squads, and her classmates from Racine Lutheran High School and Gateway Technical College. Many of them wore purple, Sara’s favorite color, and brought flowers, cards, and photos to pay tribute to her. Some of them also shared their memories and condolences with the family and the audience.
Sara’s sister, Tara, gave a heartfelt eulogy, describing Sara as her best friend, her role model, and her inspiration. She said that Sara taught her how to live fully, love deeply, and laugh often.
