The movie ‘Emancipation (2022)’ is produced by Joey McFarland, Will Smith, Todd Black, and Jon Mone. It is produced under the production companies of Overbrook Entertainment, Westbrook Studios, Escape Artists, Apple Studios, and McFarland Entertainment. The shooting of the film started on 3 May 2021 and was completed by the end of 2021. The filming was also halted for a few days because of the Coronavirus disease.
The shooting took place at various places including Los Angeles, Georgia, New Orleans, and more. The music department in the film is handled by Marcelo Zarvos. According to the sources, the film had its world premiere on 1 October 2022 in Washington, D.C. However, it will release on 2 December 2022 in the cinemas. Later, it will also be released on Apple TV+ on December 9, 2022. Reportedly, the distribution rights of the film are acquired by Apple TV+.
The cinematography is done by Robert Richardson. The lead role of Peter in the film is played by Will Smith.
