The story moves around the ritual of making the dish Seimuari when a marriage is done in South India.
In the beginning, it is show how this ritual of cooking Seimurai has come into practice and how it makes people proud and later becomes a matter of pride at various events.
The lady names Kaali (Viji Chandrasekar) is defined as a woman with money-minded thoughts. She usually takes care of the fact whether the people for whom earlier she had done the Seimurai return the favor or not. And one of her sisters-in-law Meenakshi (Radhikaa Sarathkumar) becomes part of her teasing and taunts. She taunts Meenakshi because she is incapable to do Seimurai.
Kaal’s husband Mr. Maayan (Saravanan) has given a lot as Seimurai at his sister Meenakshi’s family event. But Meenakshi is unable to return the all when it is her turn to do so.
Meenakshi’s husband has been shown died and has committed suicide. And Meenakshi is living with her one son. This is how the writer has made the movie revolve around the one ritual of Seimurai and raised questions in the audience’s mind about whether will Meenakshi be able to do Seimurai for her brother and his wife when Kaali announces the marriage of her daughter.
The Marutha movie is definitely good to watch for people who love the family drama that includes talk of pride and other things.

The writing of the character can be more good. Writer GRS has brought Marutha as an overlong and boring drama. He may have added the punch to different scenes but didn’t do that.
