After Mulayam Singh Yadav’s Death, Dimple Yadav will Contest the Mainpuri Seat

Mainpuri – Dimple Yadav, wife of Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav who will be contesting from Uttar Pradesh’s Mainpuri Lok Sabha seat that’s been left vacant after her father-in-law Mulayam Singh Yadav’s death. The parliamentary contest will be held on the 5th of December to coincide with by-elections to assembly constituencies across five states including two seats in UP. Results will be out on the 8th of December along with the assembly poll results in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh.
This is, of course, nothing short of a prestige battle for the Samajwadi Party. This is a seat that the party has not lost since Mulayam Singh Yadav’s first one. I believe in 1996 So and now the Bahu of the family contesting from this or you know the party going all out.
And also the party would be riding on the sympathy wave after the demise of Samajwadi Party patriarch, the topmost face as far as the party is concerned Mulayam Singh Yadav.
This weekend after his demise and now Dimple Yadav who interestingly the 2019 election and lost from in fact Azamgarh and since then, we are now looking at Dimple Yadav making a comeback.
This is also the first time that nobody from the Mulayam Singh Yadav family at this moment is in the Lok Sabha. So after Akhilesh Yadav who in fact had resigned and had fought the election for the Vidhan Sabha for the assembly constituency in Kannauj in fact that is where he fought the election from won that election.
That was also the former seat of Mulayam Singh Yadav where Akhilesh Yadav today is the MLA from so the party once again and the family once again want a presence as far as the national capital is concerned.
It will be very, very interesting to see apart from the BJP, which is already in a day or two is expected to announce their candidate against Dimple Yadav. It will be interesting to see which of the political party does come through because the Congress sources are telling us as a mark of respect for Mulayam Singh Yadav is not going to put up a candidate against Dimple Yadav.
But will Mayawati’s BSP put up a candidate and will it have any impact will be interesting to see. Also, a lot of people will be watching the winning margin because Mulayam Singh Yadav, since 1996, has held the seat continuously and has won this seat, even when he fought in the 1998 election from two seats.
In fact, Mainpuri was one that he retained after winning both those seats as well. So it would be interesting to see the kind of margin that Dimple Yadav if she of course wins, which is expected from political analysts get the kind of margin she gets is pocket burrow of the Yadav family.
A lot of OBC Yadav’s strong dominant caste factor plays out here also pockets of the Muslim voters which helped Samajwadi Party so they are hoping sympathy along with the factor Yadav and the Muslim factor will sail dimple Yadav through.
