Rahul Gandhi Tests Positive For Covid-19 After Campaigning in Bengal

Delhi, 20 April 2021 – Rahul Gandhi has tested positive. Rahul Gandhi just put out a tweet saying “After experiencing mild symptoms, I’ve just tested positive for COVID. All those who’ve been in contact with me recently, please follow all safety protocols and stay safe.”
Rahul Gandhi had also been campaigning in Bengal. In fact, because of the big spread of Coronavirus and the big surge in coronavirus cases Rahul Gandhi had also advocated that campaigning should be curtailed. The Trinamool Congress has also been saying the remaining three phases should be combined and compressed into one phase. That way, people will not be repeatedly exposed to the public to each other and we’ll be able to remain safe.
But the Election Commission did not accept that. Once again, we’re told that just a short while back the Trinamool Congress made that demand for the remaining three phases to be compressed in one. Rahul Gandhi of course has asked all those who came in touch with him recently to follow safety protocols and stay safe. He did talk about experiencing mild symptoms of Coronavirus.

The information is just been flashed by Rahul Gandhi himself on Twitter, in which he said that after symptoms, initial symptoms COVID like symptoms, he got his test done and just tested positive. We also appeal to all those who’ve been in contact with him recently to follow the safety protocols and safety. This comes just days after he had canceled and suspended or his rally in West Bengal citing the COVID pandemic and appeal to all other political parties to follow the suit.
Now, remember, Rahul Gandhi had been exposing himself in all these political campaigns, he has been meeting party leaders, and very recently he also attended a congress working committee meeting, which was although virtual. But yes, this exposes these top leaders to some people, politicians as well as people in his office. That’s perhaps the reason why he must have contracted this infection. Now, he is experiencing symptoms, and he’s isolated.
And he campaigned extensively in Kerala. Then he traveled Of course, once to Bengal, but he’s been in touch with a lot of people within the Congress Party and the contact tracing would be extensive. Just yesterday, former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh also tested positive. I believe Dr. Manmohan Singh has taken both the vaccines.
The senior people in the party also including Sonia Gandhi, Congress, President, Dr. Manmohan Singh, and other senior leaders including Gulam Nabi Azaad have taken the vaccine jab, but Rahul Gandhi remains to be seen whether he has been able to take it or not, because till a little while ago, a few days ago, because he was extensively campaigning in Kerala, in Tamil Nadu, then in Assam.

Rahul Gandhi had not been able to, stay in Delhi for much time, and perhaps that is the reason why we are told that he is seeking the vaccine is not very clear. Perhaps now, because now he is tested positive. The party leaders, those to him, have been advising him to stay away from the crowded public media. You can see the kind of popularity which he has in Kerala and Tamil Nadu. It was difficult to keep himself away from the people and party workers and supporters. We’ve seen some videos in which Gandhi was closely interacting with party workers and also supporters. Now, the news has come that he tested positive for Covid-19.
