UK Parliament Farm Laws Debate Controversy – Indian Government Calls It ‘A One-sided Assertion’

The High Commission of India and London has accursed a dispute among a few English lawmakers on an e-petition. This debate was over the right to peaceful protests as well as freedom of the press in India.

With the ongoing farmer’s agitation against the three farm laws, the Commission damned the debate held on Monday evening (March 08, 2021). Inside the British parliamentary premises are false assertions in a distinctly one-sided discussion.

So they have once again a reaction to the discussion, saying that it was held in response to an e-petition. Now the High Commission of India and London condemning the debate.

India has made it amply clear several times including a direct message that has been sent out by the Ministry of External Affairs time and again, of no scope of international meddling.

There is a similar sentiment prevailing outside as well, with the Indian envoys they’re sending out similar message to UK lawmakers.

The government of the United Kingdom is not in the position to discuss this matter. This is not the British Parliament, debating in the House of Commons.

This is some petition or signature-driven petition which has been discussed by some parliamentarians outside of the House of Commons. But of course, in the premises of British parliament, and to that extent, the Indian High Commission has made its displeasure known.

Despite the fact the British government has reiterated that the three new farm laws are essentially an internal matter of India, what is important is that after Canada, London has become a hub of elements inimical to the best interests of India.

The Indian High Commission will take it up with the British authorities in terms of making sure that there’s no kind of snowball into the routine process there.

However, what is important is that the High Commission has called the debate made a false assertion and was not a balanced debate. There was no substantiation of facts, given the opposition arbitrary government as also the fact that India has made it known that and, of course, as a largest functioning democracy.

As per the source, these farm laws, three and a half been debated in Parliament of India and it’s over in function. These farm laws, by themselves, have been as part of agricultural reforms have been debated for almost two decades.

Moreover, the due process has been followed before they became law and the Supreme Court of India is in fact, a seizure of the matter and has opined on it.

There is no business for the British Parliament to get into it. The British government at least has made its position known and Indian High Commission making its displeasure also known in terms of some activists getting together within the British Parliament from ISIS and discussing or debating these laws.

The High Commissioner of India usually avoids talking about an internal debate where a small group of honorable parliamentarians and a limited quorum are involved.
