UP Govt Announced Night Curfew In Lucknow, Prayagraj, Varanasi & Kanpur as COVID-19 Cases Surge

Uttar Pradesh, 8 April 2021 – COVID surged have been imposed in several up districts. The Lucknow district administration has imposed a night curfew in the area from 9 pm to 6 am. The curfew will come into effect on April 8 until 6 am on April 16. The night curfews have also been imposed in other places in Varanasi, Prayagraj, and Kanpur. We have been reporting how the number of COVID cases in Uttar Pradesh is rising, very worryingly. And now the administration taking these measures in these big towns with the night curfew.
Yesterday’s count in Lucknow was 1,333 (approx.) cases, which is Lucknow’s highest ever count. And that is worrying. And also, the other districts like Prayagraj, Varanasi, and Kanpur, all have seen a very big rise in cases, both in terms of percentages, and in terms of death numbers. In the last week, for instance, in Prayagraj, this is data that I’m comparing from Wednesday, has within 2441% in a week, and that’s a huge number.

Varanasi has within 2439% in a week, Kanpur has within 774% in a week. So all of these cities in UP, are seeing a big rise in COVID cases along with the other towns in Uttar Pradesh also where they have a very big rise with the Corona Covid-19 cases. So, this is a worrying situation.
What the Lucknow administration has also done is that it has closed out all schools, colleges, educational institutions for the next week or so. Only examinations can continue. So the administration has started to take some more steps and perhaps recognized that the situation is going back to work in terms of COVID cases in the city.
