Yogi Adityanath Govt Imposes Weekend Lockdown In Uttar Pradesh

Lucknow, 20 April 2021 – Well, Uttar Pradesh has imposed a weekend lockdown, but there is not going to be a full shutdown across the state. It’s a big relief to Yogi Adityanath’s government. The Supreme Court has for the moment stay the Allahabad High court order for lockdown until the 26th of April in five districts in UP. Refusing to implement the high court order passed on Monday. The Yogi Adityanath led UP government had challenged it in Supreme Court today.

The Apex court was stained the lockdown order by High Court asked the UP government to submit within a week before the Allahabad High Court the various steps it has taken to control the pandemic. Prayagraj, Lucknow, Varanasi, Kanpur, and Gorakhpur were among the five districts which were reporting a sharp spike in cases and were ordered by High Court to impose the lockdown. The UP government has referred to self-imposed lockdown by various groups and said full lockdown will hit the poor hardest.
