Govt will Add 14 Regional Languages on Cowin Portal, 17 Labs To Conduct Genome Surveillance

New Delhi – The government will have 14 regional languages to the COWIN portal through which slots of books for vaccination and 17 additional laboratories will be added to the INSACOG network to conduct genome surveillance and monitor variants of COVID-19. Well, that’s good news coming in 14 regional languages are to be added to the COVID COWIN portal which through which vaccination slots can be booked.
Of course, this will increase the accessibility of the portal to many people who only speak those languages. 70 additional laboratories are also identified and they will be added to the network to conduct genome and surveillance monitor variants of COVID-19. Very important as far as understanding the kinds of variants and mutations which are taking place in this particular virus, and both are very important developments as far as this battle against COVID-19 is concerned.
The Indian Health Ministry has announced that the COWIN portal will be made available in Hindi and 14 regional languages by next week. Apart from this, it has also been announced that it will be adding 17 more laboratories to the Genomics (INSACOG) network to monitor the variants of COVID-19.
And all of these decisions were announced during the 26th high-level group of ministers meeting on COVID-19 which was chaired by Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan. During the meeting, he stated that the number of laboratories in the INSACOG network is being increased from 10 to 27.
To increase the number of samples screened and allow for more detailed analysis. We also lauded the efforts of different scientists and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for launching the country’s first indigenous anti-COVID drug.
The development is being provided by the health ministry and he also stated that the new COVID-19 cases have dropped to less than three lakhs for the first time after 26 days. And the doctor Harsh Vardhan mentioned that the COVID platform will be made available in Hindi along with the 17 other regional languages by next week.
