Who is Crimson Elizondo? What has happened to Uvalde Police Officer?

A police officer Crimson Elizondo hired by the Uvalde school district despite being under investigation for her conduct as a state trooper during the school shooting has now been fired. Police body cam shows Crimson Elizondo was one of the first state troopers to enter Robb elementary school after a gunman opened fire inside the school.
But she and other officers failed to act, 19 children and two teachers were killed in the shooting. And this comes from his loved ones of victims who spent days protesting at school headquarters asking for accountability for police actions on that day.

How is the Community reacting now to Crimson Elizondo’s firing?
Just when this community thought things could not get any worse they do. This morning there was anger, frustration, and downright outrage from people you know, shaking their heads in disbelief.
How in the world could a Texas State Trooper who was under investigation for the shooting last May then wind up getting hired by the school district police force to watch over by the way the same kids?

Yet that’s exactly what happened. As you mentioned, Crimson Elizondo was on patrol at an elementary school here just yesterday. That is until she was fired. But that only happened after the loud, passionate, angry outcries from this community.
Crimson, apparently quit her job as a state trooper to join the school district’s police department. So how is the district explaining why she was hired despite being under investigation for her response to the shooting at that school?
They’re not explaining why she was hired here. What we do know is that Crimson Elizondo was recorded on body cam video that day of the shooting. And she said, on tape, you hear her saying, if that was my child inside, I wouldn’t be standing outside the school building.
And when they fired her yesterday, the school board said that’s why they fired her because of the statements she was caught saying, on the microphone on the body cam, but they’re not addressing the issue of why she was hired in the first place. After being warned, by the way, the DPS (the Department of Public Safety) warned them that she was under investigation. They’re not saying why they hired her.
Parents of victims, they’ve been calling for accountability almost since the very beginning of this shooting since the beginning, essentially, and it seems in this case, they did manage to influence the school district here. How significant is that?
It’s very significant. They’re happy she was fired, but they want to know again, why she was hired in the first place. They say that’s one thing the school district had to get right. You know, just start getting serious about these things. And they got it wrong.
And the parent says you see some of them behind me now are now protesting calling for accountability. They want the resignations of some of the school board members. They have formed an organization called lives robbed and they have issued a statement in which they said we are disgusted and angry about the Uvalde school district’s decision to hire Crimson Elizondo.

They go on to say the district is not in the business of ensuring the safety of our children. And one of the parents told us you get a more thorough interview and a more thorough vetting process when you apply for a job at a hamburger joint than you do working for this school district’s Police Department.
Media has reached out to the Uvalde School District for the response we have not heard back yet officer Elizondo has declined to comment. But she’s now the second officer to be fired by the board. So could we see more action taken against the officers who responded to the shooting that day?
Possibly, but we don’t know for certain yet. The only thing we know is that she has now been fired. The investigations continue several of them. And as they say, only time will tell here.
