Political Career

Acharya Pramod Krishnam joined the Congress party in 2014 and contested the Lok Sabha elections from Sambhal constituency. He lost to Satyapal Singh of the BJP by a margin of over 1.5 lakh votes.

He then contested the 2019 Lok Sabha elections from Lucknow constituency, where he faced Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh of the BJP. He again lost by a huge margin of over 3.4 lakh votes.   • In 2017, he alleged that the BJP was behind the mysterious death of Justice B.H. Loya, who was hearing the Sohrabuddin Sheikh encounter case, in which BJP president Amit Shah was an accused. He demanded a CBI probe into the matter and accused the BJP of trying to influence the judiciary.
  • In 2018, he accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of being a liar and a fraud. He said that Modi had failed to fulfill his promises of bringing back black money, creating jobs, and building the Ram temple. He also challenged Modi to a debate on any platform and said that he would expose his lies.
  • In 2019, he questioned the authenticity of the Balakot airstrike, which was carried out by the Indian Air Force in response to the Pulwama terror attack. He claimed that the airstrike was a hoax and that no damage was done to the terror camps in Pakistan. He also accused the BJP of using the airstrike as a political tool to gain votes.

  • In 2020, he opposed the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and the National Register of Citizens (NRC), which he termed as anti-Muslim and anti-constitutional.
