Daljit Singh Chaudhary was born on November 23, 1965 (age; 58 years, as of 2023), in Delhi. His father, Surjit Singh Chaudhary, was a businessman, and his mother, was a homemaker. He has two brothers and a sister. He completed his schooling at Delhi Public School, Mathura Road, and then pursued his graduation in B.Sc. from Hindu College, Delhi University. Career and Achievements

Daljit Singh Chaudhary joined the Indian Police Service (IPS) in 1990, after clearing the Civil Services Examination. He was allotted the Uttar Pradesh cadre and underwent training at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy in Hyderabad. He started his career as an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) in Meerut and then served as the Superintendent of Police (SP) in various districts of Uttar Pradesh, such as Bijnor, Etah, Muzaffarnagar, and Lucknow. He also served as the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police in Kanpur and Allahabad ranges.

He was deputed to the central government in 2005 and joined the National Investigation Agency (NIA) as an Inspector General (IG). He was involved in the investigation of several high-profile cases, such as the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks, the 2010 German Bakery blast in Pune, the 2011 Delhi High Court blast, and the 2013 Bodh Gaya and Patna serial blasts. He was instrumental in the arrest of several terrorists, such as Yasin Bhatkal, the founder of the Indian Mujahideen, and Abdul Karim Tunda, a close aide of Dawood Ibrahim.

He returned to Uttar Pradesh in 2014 and was appointed as the Additional Director General (ADG) of the Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS). He led several operations against the terror modules operating in the state and foiled several plots to carry out attacks. Daljit Singh Chaudhary was again deputed to the central government in 2017 and joined the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) as an Additional Director General (ADG). He was responsible for the operational and administrative matters of the force, which guards the 3,488 km long border with China. He supervised the deployment and training of the ITBP personnel and ensured their welfare and morale. He also initiated several measures to enhance the infrastructure and logistics of the force, such as constructing roads, bridges, helipads, and border outposts. He was conferred the DG’s Insignia (Silver Disc) and Commendation Roll by the ITBP Director General in 2017.

He was promoted to the rank of Special Director General (SDG) in 2019 and posted as the head of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in Jammu and Kashmir.
