Dylan’s younger brother Luke is a quarterback at Rice, after transferring from Nebraska. Controversies

Dylan McCaffrey has not been involved in any major controversies in his football career, but he has faced some challenges and criticisms along the way. One of the most notable ones was his decision to transfer from Michigan to Northern Colorado, where his father Ed is the head coach. Dylan opted out of the 2020 season at Michigan, citing health and safety concerns amid the COVID-19 pandemic. He also announced his intention to enter the transfer portal, as he was reportedly unhappy with his role and the direction of the program under Jim Harbaugh.

Dylan’s transfer to Northern Colorado raised some eyebrows, as he went from a Power Five school to a Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) team. Some fans and analysts questioned his competitiveness and his ability to play at a high level. Dylan defended his choice, saying that he wanted to play for his father and help him build a winning culture at Northern Colorado. He also said that he still had NFL aspirations and that he believed he could showcase his talent at any level.

However, Dylan’s first season at Northern Colorado did not go as planned. He struggled to adjust to the new system and the lower level of competition. He completed only 60.4% of his passes for 1,332 yards, five touchdowns and seven interceptions. He also ran for 227 yards and two touchdowns, but he was sacked 25 times. His team finished with a 3-8 record, and he ranked 91st out of 96 FCS quarterbacks in passing efficiency.

Dylan’s performance at Northern Colorado has cast some doubts on his future prospects, as he has not shown much improvement or consistency since his days at Michigan. He still has one more year of eligibility left, and he will have to prove himself on the field if he wants to follow his father’s and brother’s footsteps to the NFL.

Dylan is currently dating Kennedy Brown, a model and social media influencer. The couple has been together since 2018 and often posts pictures of their relationship on Instagram.
