The internationally known Canadian great businessman Mr. Eugene Melnyk died from a long illness on 28th March 2022. His death has been confirmed by the official Ottawa Senators. Team officials published a statement made by the Eugene family.
Earlier in 2015, Eugene went under liver transplant surgery. His liver transplant was done successfully in Toronto General Hospital in May 2015.
Ottawa Senators commissioner Gary Bettman tweeted after the death of the team chairman “The words ‘passion’ and `commitment’ define the man who has owned the Ottawa Senators since 2003.
“While successful in business, it was our game and his Senators that he was most passionate about. Eugene was often outspoken but he maintained an unwavering commitment to the game and his roots and he loved nothing more than donating a senator’s sweater and cheering on his beloved team.

It was the year 1982 when Mr. Eugene started his business by founding the famous medical publishing company title Trimel Corporation. But this company converted to Public Limited and then he sold it to Thomson Publication in 1989.
Then in 1989, he came up with the idea of starting a pharmaceutical company under the name Biovail Corporation. He finally started this company in 1991 and in the year 1995 this company generated a revenue of $19 million USD. In 2007 Mr. Eugene retired from his position as an owner of Biovail Corporation. And later in 2010 this company was completely acquired by Valeant Pharmaceutical and is now known as Bausch Health.
In the same year when Eugene retired from Biovail Corporation Eugene brought the stake of the famous Canadian beauty line Fusion Brand Inc. He made this deal with the final prize money of $85 million USD. He did a rebranding of his Fusion Brand Inc and gave it a new name as Clean Beauty Collective Inc.
Moving ahead in his Business career he founded a neuro medical device making company in 2019 titled Neurolign Technologies Inc. He was the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of his company before his death.
