Biography
Hamdan Ramli was born on September 1, 1969 (age: 54 years, as of 2023), in Batu Gajah, Perak, Malaysia. He is the son of Mohamed Ramli and Zainab. He has two siblings, a brother and a sister. His parent’s name has not been shared in media interviews by him. He attended Sekolah Rendah Kebangsaan Sri Kinta and Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Seri Putra for his primary and secondary education.
He was interested in singing since he was young and often sang in his office, where he worked as an editor for Home Video Distributor (HDV) in Damansara Utama. He was discovered by Azmeer, a composer and producer, who offered him a chance to sing for a telemovie RTM titled Aku Cinta Padamu in 1989. This was his first step into the entertainment industry.

Hamdan Ramli started his career as a comedian in 1996 when he joined the Senario group, which was formed by Farouk Hussain, the host of a TV competition program called Sinaran Pasport Kegemilangan. The group consisted of six participants of the program, namely Wahid, Ilya, Hamdan, Shamsul, Azlee, and Mazlan. The name of the group, Senario, was derived from the Malay words “senang riuh”, which means “getting loud easily”. They were given their own TV show, also called Senario, which aired on TV3 from June 1996 to 2013. The show featured various comedy sketches and characters, such as Pak Uda, Mak Uda, Pak Pandir, Mak Andeh, and Pak Mat.
