It was the year November 2005 when Du Plessis-Allan got her first job as a store manager in the sound music store and worked there for almost 6 months. In April 2006 she joined a Radio station naming RadioLive where she was assigned as a reporter and do reporting of general news. Du Plessis-Allan worked in the radio station for more than 1 and a half years.
In October 2007 she joined the TVNZ news channel and worked as a news reporter for 6 years. During these six-year Du Plessis-Allan has learned a lot and had done reporting from different remote areas like Antarctica, Turkey, London Olympics Games, and many more. She specialized in business reporting and was also nominated as the finalist of the 2012 Television Awards.
