Madan Mohan Rao (born in 1969, Age: 54 years old) is an Indian politician and a member of the Indian National Congress (INC) party. He is currently serving as the MLA of the Yellareddy constituency in the Kamareddy district of Telangana state.
He was elected to the Telangana Legislative Assembly for the first time in 2018, defeating his nearest rival Jajala Surender of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) by a margin of 24,001 votes He is also the chairman of the Telangana State Cooperative Marketing Federation (TS MARKFED).

Madan Rao was born on 15 June 1969 in Hyderabad, Telangana. His father, K. Rajeshwar Rao, was a former MLA of Khairatabad constituency and a senior leader of the INC. His mother, K. Vijaya Lakshmi, is a homemaker. He has two brothers, K. Ravi Kumar and K. Srinivas Rao, and a sister, K. Sujatha.
He completed his schooling at St. Paul’s High School in Hyderabad and graduated from Nizam College with a Bachelor of Commerce degree. He then pursued his Master of Science (Agriculture) degree from N.G. Ranga Agricultural University in Hyderabad. He also holds a graduation degree from The Wharton Business School in the United States.

Political Career
Madan Mohan joined the INC in 1994 and became an active member of the party. He worked as the general secretary of the Telangana Pradesh Youth Congress Committee from 1996 to 1998. He also served as the president of the Hyderabad District Congress Committee from 2004 to 2009. He contested the 2009 Lok Sabha elections from Malkajgiri constituency but lost to Sarvey Sathyanarayana of the INC.
He was appointed as the chairman of the Telangana State Cooperative Marketing Federation (TS MARKFED) in 2014 by the then Chief Minister of Telangana, K. Chandrashekar Rao. He played a key role in implementing various welfare schemes for the farmers and cooperatives in the state.

He contested the 2018 Telangana Assembly elections from Yellareddy constituency and won with a huge margin of 24,001 votes. He defeated Jajala Surender of the BJP, who had won the seat in 2014. He secured 50.96% of the total votes polled in the constituency.
