Biodata – Popularly known by the name of Blood Diamond Mr, Mike was born and spent his 12 years of life in Zimbabwe. He is having Zimbabwean ethnicity. But after 12 years he shifted to New Zealand due to bloodshed in Zimbabwe. He has been raised and brought up in Harare by his grandparent and as his parents used to live in Hwange.
But later as the condition become worse in Zimbabwe and there were situations of riots Mike’s family shifted to New Zealand. It was his father’s decision so they migrated to New Zealand to get a better life. At that time Mike was happy about moving to New Zealand. Mike’s parent left their grandparent behind in Zimbabwe.
Later Mike lived in countries like Blenheim, Germany, and also moves to Auckland. Earlier he had stated in his interview that he was much time bullied in his every school. When he was in his college he started following Jackie Chan.
When he moves to Auckland he thought that here he will not get bullied by the school kids, But things didn’t change and he was bullied again in high school. Finally, he decided to learn kickboxing and got the opportunity to get trained at City Kickboxing Gym under Coach Eugene Bareman. All it helped him to never get bullied again and become an undefeated fighter of all time.

Mike Mathetha’s MMA Career, Fights & Match Stats
Mike Mathetha’s career started with regular state and national level fights after he got his Kick Boxing training from City Kickboxing head trainer Mr. Eugene Bareman. He then found his partner Israel Adesanya and both went for various Kickboxing bouts. He and Israel met at Eden Terrace Gym.
He and Israel went to china for Kickboxing bouts and after returning from there Mike faced limited local fight opportunities. So he decides to try to mix martial arts fights. He trained himself for MMA fights.
And in 2017 he made his first MMA fight win against Jo Vain Duin. Then in 2018, he fights against Hyun Min Hwang and again wins this fight in the first round only.
His previous fight was with Dimps Tahau Tiopira Gillies held on 22 February 2020 and Mike defeated him in the third round.
And now he is going to compete for his 4th MMA fight against Jeremiah Wells.
“My whole career I’ve been called Blood Diamond,” he said. “It’s so crazy, before my first international fight my coach was like ‘by the way, what’s your name again because it’s just been Blood Diamond and I was like ‘you know what, let’s just keep it that way.”
Mike has competed in more than 100 Kings in the Ring fights and has lost only one.
