Sierra Jenkins (born March 13, 1997 – died March 19, 2022) was an American Journalist and Education Reporter from Norfolk, Virginia, United States. She was a reporter for The Virginian-Pilot. She started off as a breaking news reporter and not too long ago switched over to cover education.
Sierra was out in downtown Norfolk on Granby Street when someone shot her and four other people and happened just before two in the morning Saturday, Norfolk Police. A 25-year-old Divan Harris died at the scene.
Two people including Sierra were rushed to the hospital in bad shape, according to officers more people are expected to be okay. Sierra was a bystander hanging out with friends who were in town.

Jenkins’s father, Maurice Jenkins mourns the loss of his daughter. Jenkins was a journalist for The Virginian-Pilot. She had just turned 25 this week. She died from her injuries at the hospital. Her father told in an interview that his family never thought they would wake up for something like this to happen like there can’t be there’s no bigger shock than that.
With a hospital visitor’s badge still attached to his sweatshirt. Maurice Jenkins said he felt compelled to visit Granby Street Saturday morning to see one of the last places his daughter, Sierra Jenkins visited.
He got a call at four o’clock in the morning from his wife. Because she got a call from somebody and you know, at that point, he was told she was shot. That’s all he knew. So, of course, Maurice rushed to the hospital to find out that she passed away.
