All the music industry of Malaysia has got stunned when they heard about the arrest of Yasin Sulaiman as he got arrested earlier on 24th March 2022. After his arrest, he was presented in front of the Magistrate of court under the act of trafficking Cannabis.

A charge that will possibly cause him a death sentence has been read before magistrate Zhafran Rahim Hamzah.

Court has charged Yasin under Section 39B (1) (a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952. He will face punishment under Section 39B (2) of the same Act. It is still to be decided whether he will be sent to the death penalty or life imprisonment as both punishments occur under this section of the act.

Yasin has been sentenced to prison after he was found with Cannabis weighing 214 gm. He got arrested from his apartment in Kota Damansara along with 214gm Cannabis. The court has not given relief to Yasin to charges and stopped his bail against his all charges. Now next hearing of Yasin is all set to be held on May 18, 2022.

In front of the judge, Yasin requested not to charge him guilty of cultivating 17 plants of Cannabis at his apartment.

Yasin’s lawyer Mr. Yusmadi Yosoff also requested the court to grant him bail as he cultivated Cannabis for medical purposes. He shared that Yasin as having bipolar disorder and needs treatment. When Yasin enter the court he shared that his health is not good.  And when the final statement of the court was made Judge ordered to provide appropriate treatment to Yasin.
